Old Friends Talk Art Celebrating 50 Years of Local Art Presenter Program

Share

This morning at the Buchanan Center for the Arts, Sarah Mayfield will present a gallery talk for Old Friends Talk Art, celebrating 50 years of the Art Presenter Program, shares Executive Director Kristyne Gilbert:

“We are celebrating 50 years of the Art Presenter Program in the public and private schools of Warren County. Years ago, it was established by Jan DeYoung and Lila Blum to address arts education and accessibility. Of course, the program came to the art center several years ago. It was not under the umbrella of the Buchanan Center originally. It is just a really wonderful way to connect with students; not every student may be interested in sports, not every student may be interested in science, but the arts can connect them to all of those things.”

Today’s BCA gallery talk will begin at 10 am.
