OSF General Surgeon Dr. Jerry Mitchell Announces Retirement

Long-time medical provider serving the Monmouth, Galesburg, and surrounding communities, General Surgeon Dr. Jerry Mitchell announced he will retire at the end of September, informs OSF Holy Family and St. Mary President and CEO Lisa Dekezel:

“He has provided many years of wonderful service. We have so much respect for Dr. Mitchell and appreciation for him. He will be retiring here at the end of September. We do have two general surgeons that will be coming in to help support the great work he has done in establishing our general surgery program here at Holy Family, Dr. Jennifer Schmidt and Dr. Andrei Froehling will be coming over. Both of them will be coming over and holding clinic and also doing surgery here at Holy Family, so that service will fully continue.”

Dr. Mitchell received his medical degree from the University Of Illinois College Of Medicine at Chicago and has been in practice for more than 20 years.
