While pieces of legislation are in place for short term approval in addressing the educator shortage, the Regional Office of Education #33 is also working to secure long-term positions through their Education Pathways Program for high school students, explains Regional Superintendent Jodi Scott:
“We have created a program that high school students can take college coursework and learn more about the profession of teaching. We have program that can start as early as the Freshman Year and then work their way through the Senior Year. Also, we will help them enroll in local colleges and universities.”
