The United Red Storm Fall to The Knoxville Blue Bullets in This Week Four Showdown

The United Red Storm is facing the Knoxville Blue Bullets in this week four matchup. United is coming off a loss last week against the Mercer County Golden Eagles. During the game the Red Storm’s starting quarterback, Abel Wilson, was injured and has not yet returned. They are coming into this game with an 0-3 record compared to the Blue Bullet’s 3-0 record. The Blue Bullets are also ranked sixth for IHSA 2A football. The Blue Bullets kicked the game off with a 51-yard touchdown made by player Braden Downs. The kick was no good, so the score stood at 6-0 at the end of the first quarter. Jake McElwee started off the second quarter with a 29-yard touchdown making it the first points United has had on the scoreboard since week two. The two-point conversion was caught by Hunter Hall, bringing the Red Storm ahead 8-6. Knoxville responded with a touchdown to put them back in that lead spot 12-8. Jake McElwee continued to fight back by scoring a 60-yard touchdown, putting the Red Storm back on top 14-12. United continued their momentum to end the first half by growing their lead with touchdown caught by Hunter Hall with 3.9 seconds remaining, ending the first half with the Red Storm ahead 20-12. The Blue Bullets fought back right away in the third quarter scoring a touchdown to tie the game up 20-20. They continue fighting back with scoring for the second time in the first five minutes of the third quarter. This brought the Blue Bullets ahead 28-20. The Blue Bullets continue their fight scoring two touchdowns in the middle of the second half, making their lead 44-20. In the fourth quarter with 3:29 remaining Jake McElwee makes a 69-yard run scoring the first points for the Red Storm in the second half this brings it to a 44-28 game with Knoxville coming out on top. The Red Storm is set to play the Stark County Rebels next Friday night, September 23rd, at the home of the Red Storm. Pregame will begin around 6:40 with kick-off following at 7:00.
