Undefeated West Central Football Earns Impressive Win over Ridgewood

Share

The state-ranked West Central Heat 8-man football team passed a tough early season test against Ridgewood with flying colors. The Heat beat the Spartan’s new 8-man football program 66-34. For the 3rd week in a row, West Central had a big halftime lead, this time at 32-8. The Heat eventually put the game away with a 28 point 3rd quarter.

West Central senior running back Kaiden Droste was spectacular, rushing for 348 yards on 22 carries and scored the first six touchdowns for the Heat. Parker Meldrum and quarterback Mason Carnes also both rushed over the century mark, with 140 and 105 respectively. That’s the second time already this season that the trio has eclipsed 100 yards in the same game. Heat head coach Jason Kirby says those three players are surely talented, but he knows it takes a team effort to put up those numbers.
