United Submits Grant for Addition of Early Childhood Classrooms

The United Board of Education has approved to submit for a grant for Early Childhood construction to add more classrooms at their elementary schools, explains Superintendent Whitsitt:

“The state came out with a grant program here just in the last month or two to provide funding for school districts that are looking to add space for early childhood. We have four classrooms of early childhood. We have fit them in our elementary buildings as it stands right now, but what that has done is really pinched us for space. We do not have any space in our buildings for any other type of activity. If we can apply and get funded to complete some construction and build them to be early childhood classrooms. The classrooms they are in now were not built to be early childhood, so most of them don’t have bathrooms in them, don’t have the low shelves.”

Superintendent Whitsitt says the district is submitting for funding to add three classrooms at each of their elementary buildings.
