West Central 8-Man Football Prepping for Playoff With Playoff-Type Opponent in Amboy

Share

The West Central High School 8-man football team hosted their final home contest of the regular season, with a Saturday night game against Galva this past weekend. The Heat honored several senior athletes first, and then cruised to their 8th win of the year in another dominant 60-8 win over the Wildcats. In yet another quick start, West Central took a substantial lead at half, leading 46-0 at the break.
With the win, the Heat are now 8-0 and are ranked as the number 1 team in the state of Illinois in the latest IHSA 8-man football rankings. West Central’s final game of the year is a road test with the number 3 ranked Amboy/LaMoille/Ohio high school CO-OP. Amboy handed West Central one of their only losses last season. Heat Head Coach, Jason Kirby, previewed the big game during his Wednesday morning WRAM Coaches Corner interview.
