City of Galesburg to sell retired city equipment

The City of Galesburg has partnered with PurpleWave Auction to sell retired vehicles, miscellaneous parts and tools, and various office supplies and equipment. The items are available for bids on the PurpleWave Auction website, with the auction ending on October 25, 2022.

The following items are included in the auction:

  • 36 slot mailbox
  • (2) Plan drawer units with base
  • (2) Four drawer vertical filing cabinets
  • (7) Five drawer vertical filing cabinets
  • Shredder
  • Chairs
  • (6) 60 gallon storage tanks w/hose & pumps
  • 15” walk behind bump grinder
  • 12” walk behind bump grinder
  • Sprayer pump & hose reel
  • Stand up two-wheel battery charger
  • Walk behind concrete saw
  • Used push mowers
  • Bicycles
  • Chairs
  • 1975 Chevrolet C65 training engine
  • 2008 Ford F250 w/plow
  • DeWalt cutoff Saw
  • Pallet of obsolete parts
  • (2) Cushman meter maid carts
  • 10’ snowplow
  • MTD snow blower
  • Toro snow blower
  • Port – a – power
  • LED traffic modules- 12” green/ yellow/ red balls and arrows, 8” LEDs

PurpleWave Auction utilizes a no-reserve auction format, in which the item will sell to the highest bidder. Items can be viewed on the PurpleWave Auction website, and those interested in making a bid will need to create an account. There is no fee to register for an account or to bid on any items. The winning bidder will pay a premium on all purchases, which is 10% of the winning bid. The winning bidder will be notified via email and sent an invoice for payment after the auction is closed. Once the invoice has been paid, the buyer will receive a paid invoice, and can make arrangements to pick-up their item.
