Eagle View Community Health System has launched a new foundation, the “We Care Program” to assist families with children on Medicaid and are in need of extensive dental care, explains Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator Emily Higgins:
“Either they are of a younger age, have extreme anxiety, just not a good relationship with a dentist; sometimes that happens from prior dentists. What will happen is, they will need to be referred out to a pediatric dentist. Unfortunately, the closest pediatric dentist to us that accepts Medicaid is in Chicago. So, we are starting the “We Care Program” to partner with a few of the more local dentists to where we can give a referral to them, and we will pay some of that cost or all of that cost based on household size income to help those kids get the dental care they need.”
Higgins says the program is currently only for pediatric patients and utilization of the offered assistance begins with a visit to one of Eagle View’s dental providers.
