Local Farmer Ron Moore with a Crop Update

Share

We started soybean harvest last week after two days of electrical problems on the combine. Seems the mice worked on the wiring as well as the nuts and bolts. The soybeans are really dry and about where I thought the yields would be. Good, but not a record by any means. The corn is still in the 20s and yielding very well. We sowed some cereal rye on the silage field, and it is up and looking like a good stand. Let’s hope the voles leave it alone next spring. Enjoy the fall harvest and stay safe.
