Ruby O. Bielser, 95, of West Burlington, IA, died at 12:04 am, Friday, October 28, 2022 at the Klein Center, West Burlington, IA.

Ruby was born May 9, 1927 in Oquawka, IL the daughter of Charles & Clara (Bandy) Bielser.  She was raised and educated in Oquawka, graduating from Oquawka High School in 1945.

Ruby worked at the IAAP plant in Burlington, IA as a production worker for 40 years before retiring in 1991.

She enjoyed reading, camping, fishing, playing cards, solving puzzles and spending time with her dogs.  Following her retirement, Ruby set a lofty goal of reading every book in the Burlington Public Library. She also enjoyed traveling, and playing dominoes with her former coworkers, and as she would have put it, doing whatever she damn well pleased!

Survivors include her nieces, Nancy (Andy) Carlson of Monmouth, IL, and Cathe (Tim) Burke of Denver, CO; nephews, David (Linda) Biesler of Des Moines, IA and Brian (Carolyn) Bielser of Billings, MT; great nieces, Jessica (Patton) Connour of Sheboygan, WI, Stephanie (Cale) Evans of Oquawka, IL and Anna (Josh) Hinton of Monmouth, IL; great nephews, Wayne Carlson of Monmouth and Seth (Mary-Grace) Carlson of Oquawka, IL. Several great great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, Edna Richmond and Reva Ackles and 1 brother, Charles Leslie Bielser; nephew, Jack Richmond and great nephew, Jackson Hinton.

Graveside services will be 11:00 am, Monday, November 7, 2022 at Oquawka Cemetery, Oquawka, IL. No visitation hours are planned.  Cremation has been accorded.  Memorials may be given to the Burlington Public Library and sent to the funeral home.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
