Teresa Dianne Harn, 60, of Galesburg, Illinois, died peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2022. 

Teresa was born September 11, 1962 in Macomb, Illinois the daughter of Leo Franklin and Sally Ann (Churchill) Harn.  After graduating from high school, Teresa received her AAS from Carl Sandburg College and then earned a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Western Illinois University.  She went on to a long career in hotel and restaurant management, most notably working locally for the Best Western in Galesburg for over 10 years.

Teresa married Kathy Carter on January 1, 2020 in Galesburg.  She survives as does one daughter, Kelly Harn of Galesburg; a nephew who was like her son, David (Hope Yocum) Harn of Carmen, Illinois; one brother, Michael Harn of Avon, Illinois; one sister, Katrina (Mike) Boys of St. Augustine, Illinois; and three grandchildren, Cobain, Rylie, and Kolton.  Teresa is also survived by Carol Heap of Media, Illinois who became her second mom after the death of her mother, Sally in 1972 and remained her mom throughout the rest of her life; and her father, Leo of Roseville, Illinois.  Along with her mother, Teresa was preceded in death by a son, Todd Harn; and a brother, Dave Harn. 

Teresa had a caring heart and enjoyed cooking and taking care of others, often putting everyone else before herself.  Teresa enjoyed being around people, playing cards, shopping, crafts, and many adventures camping.

Cremation will be accorded.  A celebration of Teresa’s life will be held at PZ’s Place and Steakhouse, 2330 Grand Ave, Galesburg from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2022.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.   Memorials may be made in Teresa’s memory to the Knox County Humane Society.
