Vernadine B. Stevenson, age 88, of Roseville, Illinois, passed away at 4:10 a.m. Sunday, October 23, 2022 at Roseville Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, where she had resided the past fourteen years.

She was born April 14, 1934 in Missouri, the daughter of Virgil and Gladys Russell Davis.  She was first married to Dean I. McIntyre.  He was killed in action during the Korean Conflict, in 1952.  She then was married to Earl Beckman.  They later divorced.  She then married Arthur Stevenson.  They later divorced.

Vernadine was employed at Sylvania and King’s Daughters and Sons  in Burlington.  She  worked as a waitress at several restaurants over the years, and also worked as a nurse’s aide in home health care for a time.  

Survivors include four sons: Dean I. McIntyre Jr of Gladstone, IL, Daniel E. Beckman of Hutchinson, KS, Douglas E. Beckman of Danville, IA, Darcy W. Beckman of New London, IA, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband: Dean McIntyre Sr, one son: David Earl Beckman, one grandson: Dean McIntyre III, one daughter in law: Roxanne McIntyre, and her brothers and sisters.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Olena Cemetery, near Stronghurst, with Rev. Kendall Hetrick officiating.  The family will receive friends from Noon until 1:30 p.m. Thursday ant Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst.  A memorial fund has been established.  Please visit Vernadine’s obituary at banksandbeals.com to sign the guest book and leave a condolence.
