Andrew C. Bertelsen, 51, of Columbia, MD, formerly of Monmouth, IL, passed away on November 1, 2022 at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore, MD.

He was born on June 23, 1971 in Monmouth, IL, the son of Dale Bertelsen and Rosemary (Chesher) Ashby.  Andrew was raised and educated in the Monmouth area and graduated from Warren High School in 1989. 

Andrew married Kasandra Hoelscher in December of 1994, they later divorced. 

Andrew first worked at Farm King in Monmouth.  He later worked as an agricultural specialist for over 27 years for the Twomey Company, CGB, and Nutrien Ag.  As an avid NASCAR fan and country boy, Andrew loved cruising the country roads. 

Surviving Andrew are his parents, Dale (Linda) Bertelsen of Monmouth, IL, Rosemary (Gary) Ashby of Peoria, IL; his sisters, Stephanie (Melissa) Bertelsen of Columbia, MD, Stacy Salter of St. Petersburg, FL, Heather McCormick of San Fransisco, CA, Jen (Bill) Bevenour of Monmouth, IL; his brother, Chad (Bobby Nees) Deakin of Monmouth, IL; several nieces and nephews also survive. 

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. A celebration of life will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 19, 2022 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  A gathering of family & friends will continue at 4:00 p.m. at Quigley’s Saloon (125 W Penn Ave, Roseville, IL 61473).  Memorials can be made to the Andrew C. Bertelsen Memorial Fund.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.
