Dolores Patricia Formhals, 96, of Galesburg, died Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Seminary Manor, Galesburg, Illinois

Pat was born September 13, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Frank and Adeline (Paschke) Bulinski.  After high school Pat worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Company until 1952.  Upon graduating from teachers college in Chicago, Pat began her career in education teaching the Chicago school districts.  Pat and U. Leon Formhals were married on July 9, 1955 in Chicago.  After moving downstate Pat started teaching in the Bushnell school district and went on to spend the most of her career teaching at Galesburg School District #205 retiring after 36 years in 1988.

Pat is survived by one brother, Norbert St. John of California; a brother-in-law, Stan (Selma) Formhals of Lewistown, Illinois; a sister-in-law, Joyce Formhals of Galesburg, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.  Leon preceded Pat in death on April 20, 2002.  She is also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Pat was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister.  She volunteered at OSF St. Mary Medical Center and Galesburg Cottage Hospital.  She was a member of the State of Illinois Retired Teachers Association and the Retired Teachers Association of Chicago.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.  The rosary will be prayed at 11 a.m. with the funeral mass following the rosary at 11:30 a.m.  Father Ghislain Inai will officiate.  Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Galesburg.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Memorial contributions may be directed to Corpus Christi Catholic Church or OSF St. Mary Medical Center.  Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
