She was married to Carroll Robert Krueger on November 11, 1956, at the Saint Mathews Lutheran Church in Princeton, Illinois. Together they had three daughters and were married for thirty-four wonderful years. Carroll preceded Gladys in death on July 28, 1991.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carroll; seven brothers: Kenny, Art, “Tweet”, Herb, Jim, Bob, and Donnie; one sister, Katherine Hinckley; and two son-in-laws: Tommy Hampton and Earl Smith.

Gladys was of the Catholic faith and regularly attended Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Galesburg. She enjoyed puzzles of all kinds, especially crosswords and word searches. She will be fondly remembered for her razor-sharp wit and great sense of humor. More than anything else, Gladys loved her family and spending quality time with them. She was authentically and wholeheartedly there for those she loved and will forever be missed.

Cremation rites will be accorded. A private family graveside service will be held at Elm Lawn Memorial Park in Princeton, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
