Hancock County Deputies Respond to Subject Jumping Out of Moving Vehicle

Hancock County Sheriff Travis Duffy reports that on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at approximately 3:55 PM the Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call about a traffic crash on Illinois Highway 96 near County Road 1600N.

It was reported that a male subject had jumped out of a moving vehicle.

Sheriff’s deputies arrived on scene and learned that Dylan J. Kroeger (27 or Hamilton, IL) had serious injuries from falling from a moving vehicle.

The vehicle was a 2014 Ford Fusion driven by Shaina J. Kroeger (33 of Hamilton, IL). Following further investigation, Shaina Kroeger was cited for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol.

Dylan Kroeger was transported to the University of Iowa Hospital via AirEvac.

Ther Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Nauvoo Fire Department, Nauvoo Ambulance, Hamilton Fire Department, Hamilton Police Department, AirEvac, and Hancock County EMS.

This matter is still under investigation and all persons charged with a crime are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
