Cold and flu season is here, but how do you tell the different between the current respiratory illnesses? Warren County Health Department Administrator Jenna Link helps break the symptoms down:
“Is it a cold, is it flu, is it COVID, or is it RSV? The important thing is if you are not feeling well and not making improvements, to reach out to your provider and getting a test for COVID or the flu or RSV and see what is going on. RSV tends to be more with the infants and small children, although adults can get it as well. With RSV, you have your cough, runny nose, sneezing, fever, and wheezing. Symptoms can typically last seven to ten days. Some of those things are very similar to what we see with COVID and flu and really the only way to know what is going on is to go and get tested.”
Administrator Link reports Warren County is in a low community level for COVID. Cases of RSV and the flu are currently more prominent.
