Limit Sharing Your Secure Passwords

Share

Implementing and learning discipline when it comes to mobile devices is important in keeping your data secure. Creating strong passwords, not oversharing on social media, using free Wi-Fi with caution, watching out for links and unsecure attachments, and considering additional account protection are just a few tips in locking down your data. Monmouth-Roseville District IT Director Donald Johnson also suggests limiting who you share passwords and accounts with:

“If you give somebody the password, if you give somebody access, they are going to be able to get in and the best stuff, the best security you have, isn’t going to stop that. It is just instilling that discipline and understanding as too why you are doing what you are doing and when to do it.”

Security measures look almost identical across most major online accounts. Create unique passwords for each service and change them often. Also, utilize two-factor authentication wherever possible, which requires a secondary code provided on another device to access an account.
