Share

A new sport is set to be added to the Monmouth-Roseville high school winter sports rotation. Competitive cheerleading was approved by the board last year, and members of the team have started preparing for the first annual season this year. Athletic Director Jeremy Adolphson previewed the coaches and numbers for the new program.

“For the first time, competitive cheerleading also got approved and that is a winter sport for us. I think we have eight girls on the competitive cheer team with Coach Jenna Bensen. We go from basketball, wrestling, and a swimmer here or there, to add in bowling and competitive cheer, and boys’ swim. There is a lot more kids involved in things and a lot more things going on a Monmouth-Roseville.”

The cheerleaders will have up to 6 invited this season before state competitions. For the full interview with Athletic Director Jeremy Adolphson, click here:
