Major Armani Carpenter, 3 weeks, of Galesburg, died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 23, 2022, in the emergency room of OSF St. Mary Medical Center.

He was born October 2, 2022, in Peoria, the son of August Shynell Gibbs and Diondray Carpenter.

He is survived by his mother, August Gibbs; his father, Diondray Carpenter; a brother, Messiah Jenkins; 13 sisters; nine additional brothers; grandparents, Tina Edwards, Gregory Gibbs, Fannie Carpenter, and Tommy Wilson; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other extended family. 

Major was a very happy baby.  He was baptized this past Sunday at the Second Baptist Church.

Cremation will be accorded.  The family will host a memorial service at noon on Friday, November 4, 2022 at the Second Baptist Church, 1530 Brown Ave., Galesburg.  Memorial contributions may be made to the family.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services of Galesburg is honored to serve the family.  Online condolences may be made on the funeral home’s website at www.h-p-w.com.
