Michael L. “Mike” Lease, 74, of Monmouth, IL passed away at 3:15 am, Monday, November 7, 2022 at Legacy Estates, Monmouth, IL.

Mike was born December 3, 1947 in Monmouth, IL the son of William C. and G. Louise (Greenstreet) Lease. He was raised in Kirkwood, IL, graduating from Yorkwood High School in 1963.

Mike served with the United States Navy during Vietnam from 1967-1973.

Mike was a furniture maker at La-Z-Boy and later a property manager for Allen Properties both in Banning CA.

He was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Kirkwood, Monmouth American Legion Post #136 and 40/8.  He had a strong affinity for his county.

Mike enjoyed golfing, listen to music and in his younger years being on the river skiing and watching the eagles.

Survivors include his children, Cathy Soto and Carol Altis of CA; 5 grandchildren; great grandchildren; brother, William L. (Lorraine) Lease of Tallahassee, FL; sisters, Lana Lea (Mike) Booth of Princeville, IL and Mindy (Mike) Henry of Biggsville, IL., several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Linda Lease and Missy Free; and his brother Kevin Lease.

Graveside services with military honors will be 1:00 pm. Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Monmouth Cemetery. Cremation has been accorded. No visitation is planned.  Memorials may be given to the Monmouth American Legion or Beacon of Hope Hospice and sent to the funeral home.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.  For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com
