Michael L. Noel, 71, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 1:15 a.m., Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Seminary Manor, Galesburg, IL.
He was born on March 29, 1951 in Monmouth, IL, the son of Kenneth and Helen (Quinn) Noel. Mike was raised and educated in Monmouth and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1970.
Mike married Shirley Vestal on October 11, 1980 in Biggsville, IL; she preceded him in death on October 30, 2018.
Mike worked at Monmouth Materials for many years driving a cement truck. He also worked at the Glastex boat factory in Monmouth for a time. He then worked at IMI Cornelius in Monmouth until his retirement. Mike enjoyed going to flea markets and collecting antiques with his wife Shirley. He liked going to sprint and drag car races.
Surviving Mike are his children, Lori (Brian) Kane of Galesburg, IL, Lisa (Tony) Ramirez of Bloomington, IL, Lana (Lonnie) Simpson of Monmouth, IL, Richard (Jennifer) Cole of Monmouth, IL; his siblings, David (Carolyn) Noel of Monmouth, IL, Bill (Theresa) Noel of Monmouth, IL, Laurie Noel of Monmouth, IL, Denny (Missy) Noel of Monmouth, IL, Ed Noel of Chicago, IL, Bob Noel of Chicago, IL, Jeff Noel of Terra Haute, IL, Lisa (Tim Gould) Noel of Galesburg, IL. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Shirley Noel; one son, Jeff Cole; three brothers, Tom Noel, Kenneth Noel, and Donald Noel.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 25, 2022 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth, IL. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
