Patricia “Pat” Lucille Farrell, 95, of Galesburg, died at 6:29 a.m. Sunday, November 27, 2022.

Pat was born June 27, 1927 in Beatrice, Nebraska the daughter of Clarence and Marie (Hladky) Mack.  She married Bernard C. Farrell on May 20, 1950 in Galesburg.  He preceded her in death on January 26, 1996.

Pat was raised by her parents on the farm and graduated from Beatrice High School in 1944.  She then worked in the National Headquarters of the American Red Cross in Washington D.C. during WWII.  She came to Galesburg in 1946 and worked for May Company for 9 years.  For the next 20 years, Pat’s primary vocation was at home with her growing family.  In 1980 she began working for OSF St. Mary Medical Center and retired from there in 2001.

Those left to cherish the memory of Pat are: her three children; Patrica Baker of Sterling, VA, Thomas Farrell of East Peoria, IL, and David (Stacey) Farrell of Galesburg, IL; her nine grandchildren; Steven Baker, Sarah Doyle, Thomas “TJ” Farrell, Father Joseph Baker, Ryan Farrell, Mark Baker, Rachel Baker, Maria Baker, and Tyler Farrell; and five great grandchildren.   She is also survived by her two sisters; Delores “Dolly” Roberts of Galesburg, IL and Virginia Good of Statesboro, GA.   Along with her parents and husband, Pat was proceeded in death by her two brothers; John “Jack” Mack  and Robert Mack; a sister, Jeanette Engler; and one great grandchild.

She was a longtime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and later Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  She was also a member of the National Catholic Society of the Forresters.  Pat enjoyed embroidery work, sewing, tending to her yard, and taking daily walks.  Most of all, Pat loved being with her family and will be missed by all who loved her.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2022 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Galesburg with funeral mass following at 11 a.m.  Father Lee Brokaw will officiate.  Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Galesburg.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Memorials may be directed to the Ladies of Mary or St. Patrick’s Altar and Rosary Society.   Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com
