Sheriff races decided in Henderson, Knox, and McDonough Counties

There was a race for Sheriff in Henderson, Knox and McDonough Counties in yesterdays General Election. In Henderson county the new Sheriff will be Matthew Link. With 59 percent of the vote, Link defeated current Sheriff Steven Henshaw 1732 to 1209.
Knox County will also have a new sheriff. After 15 years, David Clague did not seek re-election, and voters Tuesday chose Jack Harlan to be their next sheriff. Harlan, a Republican defeated Democrat James Robertson with 58 percent of the vote.
And in McDonough County, Sheriff Nicholas Petitgout will remain sheriff. Petitgout, a Republican, received 6275 votes or 69 percent compared to 2884 votes for Mark Clark, who ran as a Independent.
In the race for Knox County clerk, Scott Erickson was re-elected with 81 percent of the vote defeating Tracy Thierry-Robertson. For Knox County treasurer, Janet Windish defeated Robin Davis with 58 percent of the vote.
