William E. Hetrick Sr.

William E. Hetrick Sr., age 90, of Carman, Illinois, passed away Monday, November 7, 2022 at his home.  He was born July 15, 1932 in Carman, Illinois, the son of Earman  and Mary Rettig Hetrick.  On November 24, 1952, he married Betty Huffman in Burlington, Iowa.  She preceded him in death on April 26, 2006.

Mr. Hetrick served in the United States Navy from 1950 to 1954.  He was employed at J. I. Case in Burlington for many years, retiring in 1983.  Following his retirement, he farmed with his son and drove a mail truck for several years.  He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and the National Wild Turkey Federation.

Survivors include two sons: William (Lori) Hetrick Jr. of Carman, IL, and James (Joyce) Hetrick of Gladstone, IL, five grandchildren: Dusty, Dana, Kevin, Brittany, and Bailey, six great  grandchildren: Dalton, Jolie, Kaylee, Dylan, Mason, and Naomi, one brother: Kendall (Jackie) Hetrick of Lomax, IL, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father and mother, his stepmother: Polly Hetrick, one grandson: Brian Hetrick, one granddaughter in law: Dawn Hetrick, two sisters: Emma Gean Snyder and Rosemary Christiansen, and one brother: Larry Hetrick.

A graveside service, with military rites, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday November 11, 2022 in the Carman Cemetery, with Rev.
