Help Keep the Roadways Safe this Holiday Season

Share

As the holidays draw nearer, parties will be attended, and families will get together to celebrate. Monmouth Police Chief Joe Switzer reminds motorists to buckle up, drive sober, and not to drive distracted:

“People getting together for the holidays, celebrate responsibly. If you need to call someone for a ride or designate a driver, please do that. That is the best way to keep yourself and other people safe after you have been celebrating the holidays. We do have the patrols out. Distracted driving is something that continues; people talking on their cellphones and texting while they are driving and definitely don’t drive impaired, whether it be with alcohol or marijuana.”

Through a grant, the Monmouth Police Department will continue having extra officers out on the roadways through the new year looking for seatbelt violations, speeding violations, and DUI violations.
