Mr. James “Jimmy” Ray Neal, 48, of Abingdon, Illinois passed away peacefully at 10:15 pm Sunday, December 18, 2022, at his home with his loving family by his side.

Jim was born September 8, 1974, in Monmouth, Illinois, the son of Marsha Ann Bundy. He married the love of his life Amy E. Axcell on February 11, 1995, in Galesburg.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Amy; his daughter, Breanna Neal of Bushnell, Illinois; his son Branden (Brianna) Neal of Macomb, Illinois; his brother, Michael (Hollie) Neal of Pekin, Illinois and four grandchildren, Ava, Ellie, Ryder and Cruse. He is preceded in death by his mother, Marsha A. (Bundy) Kidd and his son, Tyler James Neal.

Jim was a graduate of Galesburg High School Class of 1993. He worked several jobs until he found his niche installing auto glass and proudly opened his business, Neal’s Auto Glass in 2005.

Jim enjoyed any kind of motorsport, especially riding his Harley. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Jim had a heart of gold and will be missed dearly.

Visitation is scheduled for 4:00-7:00 pm Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Thursday, December 22, 2022, at the chapel with Deacon Michael Crummer officiating. The burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. A Celebration of Jimmy’s Life will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 4, 2023, at the Knoxville American Legion. Memorials may be given to the OSF Hospice or to the family.
