Jamieson Community Center’s Senior Nutrition Program Forms Waiting List as Calls Increase

Share

As more calls have come in for the Senior Nutrition meals through Jamieson Community Center, Executive Director Nancy Mowen informs they have had to start a waiting list:

“We are moving people off that list as we had a couple people drop off and we had some funds come in from donations and so as we receive notification of those gifts, we will pull people off that waiting list. This is something new for me and it is difficult. We have 21 right now. Our cost is $9.53 a day per person, so it is about $2,500 a year per person; that’s Monday through Friday.”

On the Food Pantry side, increased traffic continues being seen and Mowen says food donated and purchased from Freezing For Food will last about a month.
