MFD Chief Rexroat Recommends Having Essentials at the Ready During Winter Driving Months

Share

The first major winter storm will hit the local area ahead of the Christmas holiday weekend. If you are planning to travel, Monmouth Fire Chief Casey Rexroat advises having these basic items in your car in case of becoming stranded along your path:

“The very, very basic things I would always recommend a phone charger, a blanket or coats, and water and food or snacks, something like that. Also, make sure your gas tank is reasonably full where you can start your car every once in a while, and keep yourself warm if you had to sit there for a really long time.”

A Winter Storm Watch is in effect through Friday with widespread blowing snow, wind, and extreme cold temperatures.
