The Monmouth-Roseville Titans varsity boys basketball squad returned to the court on Tuesday night facing off with the Riverdale Rams in Port Byron. The Titans were coming off a hard fought 43-42 loss at Farmington last week, and looked to rebound with a win over the 6-1 Rams. The Titans were down by just one point at the halftime break, but a strong 2nd half showing by Riverdale proved to be too much for Monmouth-Roseville, as they fell by the final score of 56-41

It was a back and fourth affair in the first half, after one quarter of play the Rams led 13-10, and held on to just a one point at the break, entering the second half of play up 24-23. Riverdale would come out of the halftime on fire, putting together a 13-4 run with help from Junior guard Jake Willems who scored 11 of those points. The Rams would go into the final quarter of play with a 46-33 lead, and would not let up in that 4th quarter, closing out the game and securing the 56-41 win.

In the statbook for the Titans, Nico Avendano led the team in scoring with 14 points, while C.J. Johnson added 12. The Titans fall to 4-3 on the season and 0-1 in Three Rivers Conference play. Monmouth-Roseville will look to rebound from their 2 game skid with a home match against Knoxville on Friday. For the full replay of the WMOI broadcast, click HERE:
