Minor illnesses and injuries can occur at some of the most inconvenient times. That is why OSF HealthCare will soon offer a new convenient option in Galesburg for patients who need urgent care that do not require a trip to the emergency department.

OSF OnCall Urgent Care clinics are staffed by experienced care guides, a radiology technologist, and an advanced practice provider. Providers deliver basic urgent care services such as treatment for cold, cough, flu, sprains, minor lacerations and fractures, school and sports physicals, urinary tract and upper respiratory infections among other minor ailments and conditions. These clinics offer occupational health services, X-ray, diagnostic laboratory services, an on-site pharmacy, and COVID-19 testing for those with COVID-19 symptoms.

What makes OSF OnCall Urgent Care clinics unique is the more modern setting that has the feel of a lounge or café rather than a traditional doctor’s office and offers easy access to care. OSF OnCall Urgent Care clinics offer charging stations, free coffee, water or hot chocolate, blankets during the cold weather, and larger family treatment rooms that allow children to accompany a parent and siblings for more a comfortable experience for larger families or accompanying support partners.

These clinics are located near neighborhoods and shopping areas where, historically, health care providers have not been located. The new OSF OnCall Urgent Care coming to Galesburg will be located at 2779 Volunteer Drive, Suite 201 (near the Walmart location, just off Route 34 between I-74 and Seminary Street).

“OSF HealthCare continues to make investments in the community. We are here for the long haul and are ready to meet growing health care needs,” says Lisa DeKezel, president of OSF HealthCare St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg and OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth. “From busy parents to college students and retirees, we also know there’s a growing need for high-quality, convenient, and affordable health care in the community, and OSF OnCall Urgent Care opens the doors to provide just that. I am thrilled we will soon be able to offer this service in the Galesburg community.”

The new clinic is expected to be open to the community by December 20th. All OSF OnCall Urgent Care locations are open 365 days a year, from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome or individuals can reserve a time that works for them through osfoncall.org/urgentcare.

“The addition of the new OSF OnCall option in Galesburg allows us to serve area residents where and when they need it. OSF OnCall Virtual Urgent Care is also available when people need care after hours or when they’re not able to make an in-person visit,” says Kate Barth, vice president/chief nursing officer-On Demand Services, OSF OnCall. “OSF OnCall Urgent Care is a wonderful service that embraces a modern urgent care concept so we are able to provide quick, high-quality care for on-the-go patients.”
