Robert “Bob” Moore, 77, of Knoxville, Illinois unexpectedly passed away Thursday evening December 22, 2022 at his home. He was born January 7th, 1945 in Hannibal, Missouri to Robert and Ada (McKiernan) Moore.

Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Nina Moore, son Robert “Wade” Moore and grandsons Chance and Liam of Delong, IL, son Edward and Polly Terpening of Victoria, IL, daughter Michelle Terpening of Knoxville, IL, brothers William and Richard Moore, sister Beth and David Griffith, all of Hannibal, MO and nieces and nephews. 

He was proceeded in death by his parents and a sister, JoAnne Anton.

Bob graduated from Hannibal High School in 1963, LaGrange College Hannibal and joined the National Guard, proudly serving in Vietnam. He later worked for Burlington Northern as a surveyor until opening his own business along with wife Nina, Moore Care Kennel in Knoxville, IL.

Bob enjoyed all of his client and dog friends he met over the past 30 years of business. He enjoyed mowing and taking care of the kennel, watching TV, eating a really good meal, a cold Miller Lite, taking care of his champion show horses, his dogs Hayden and Lucky and most recently camping with his family. Bob and his son Wade shared a passion for classic and hot rod cars and recently enjoyed a fast ride in Wade’s Corvette and were looking forward to some off roading in his Jeep. 

Bob will be deeply missed and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be left to his grandsons’ education or humane society of the donor’s choice. Memorials may be sent to the family or to the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes, 120 South Public Square, Knoxville, Illinois.
