Robert L. Gray, age 90, of Gladstone, IL, passed away at 6:20 PM on Monday, December 12, 2022 at Southeastern Iowa Medical Center in West Burlington, IA.  He was born August 23, 1932 in Burlington, IA, the son of Wendale E. and Waunita A. (Lubke) Gray.  Robert attended rural schools in Gladstone and graduated from Biggsville High School with the Class of 1950.  After school, Robert proudly served our country as a corporal in the Chemical Corps of the United States Army during the Korean conflict.

On August 11, 1953, Robert married Barbara Randall in Galesburg, IL.  Robert farmed for close to 72 years on his own farm.  He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Biggsville, IL where he served many years as an elder and Sunday school teacher.  He was an active 4H leader, a member of the Free Masons, as well as the Henderson County Historical Society.  In his spare time, he enjoyed trap shooting and hunting upland game.

Robert is survived by his wife, Barbara, of Stronghurst, IL, two daughters, Lisa (Jeff) Lox of Oquawka, IL and Rebecca (Jason) Stanbrough of Essex, IA.  Four sons, Timothy (Cathy) Gray of Gladstone, IL, Stephen (Paula) Gray of Burlington, IA, Matthew Gray of Gladstone, IL, and Patrick Gray of Oquawka, IL.  Also surviving Robert are 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.  He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Patricia Bigger, one brother, Eddie Gray, one grandson, Jason Gray, and one great-grandson, Carson Bigger.
