Snow Emergency Issued for City of Monmouth Through Saturday Morning

Snow Emergency begins:  8am Thursday December 22, 2022 

Snow Emergency ends:  8am Saturday December 24, 2022

Possible accumulations:  2-4 inches with possible blizzard conditions

The City of Monmouth is alerting Monmouth residents that a SNOW EMERGENCY will be in effect for 8AM THURSDAY DECEMBER 22, 2022 UNTIL 8AM SATURDAY DECEMBER 24, 2022. ANY VEHICLES PARKED ON A “SNOW EMERGENCY” ROUTE NEED TO BE MOVED OFF THE ROUTE.  This will facilitate snow plowing and removal on Snow Emergency Streets.

According to the National Weather Service and local news forecasts, possible snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches could fall beginning Thursday morning and continue into Friday.  Wind gust of 40-50 mph will quickly increase with dangerous wind chills of 20 to 40 below zero Thursday night leading to near blizzard conditions through Saturday morning.

This announcement is being issued to remind the community that any vehicles parked on designated snow routes during the Snow Emergency WILL BE TICKETED.

SNOWFALL AMOUNTS AND TIME SPAN PREDICTIONS ARE TAKEN FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AND LOCAL WEATHER FORECASTS.


BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES…AND USE
CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
