Augusta Man Charged with Child Pornography and Criminal Sexual Abuse

Hancock County Sheriff Travis Duffy reports that an August, IL man has been charged with two counts of Child Pornography and seven counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse.

After a lengthy investigation by sheriff’s deputies, the charges were filed against Marcus D. Hiland, age 26, of Augusta, IL on January 27, 2023. Hiland turned himself in at the Sheriff’s Office on the related warrant and posted the required bond.

The matter is set for a first appearance in Hancock County court.

Hiland is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
