For the second week in a row a Monmouth College thrower won the Midwest Conference Field Performer of the Week award, this time on the men’s side. Sophomore Shane Anderson (Lisle, Illinois) took the honors after he captured the weight throw at the Bumble Rumble in Davenport, Iowa on Saturday.

Anderson set a new personal best for the second week in a row when he threw 17.92m in the weight throw. In two meets this season, Anderson has set two PR’s in the weight throw and won the event both times. His 17.92m throw ranks 7th in Monmouth history for the event and is the ninth best for all NCAA Division III throwers this season. Anderson also tops the MWC list in the weight rhrow, going nearly two feet farther than everyone else.

Anderson joins Addi Cox (Morton, Illinois) as MWC Performers of the Week for the 2023 season. Cox won the honor last week with PR’s in the weight throw and shot put. The Scots are next in action on Saturday in Grinnell, Iowa.
