The Miss Illinois County Fair Queen Pageant is coming up on January 20th-22nd and includes over 70 young ladies competing for the title. Locally the Henderson County Fair Queen, Reagan Spence and the Warren County Fair Queen, Madeline Blaesing will be representing our local area. Blaesing is a Senior at Monmouth College and a member of Pi Beta Phi:
“So, right now I just finished my Junior Year at Monmouth College. My family has always been Monmouth College, both of my parents went there and I always kind of knew that I was going to go; and so, finishing and starting my Senior Year now, I will be in a Practicum Experience this semester and then student teaching in the fall, so I am really excited to still to be in the Monmouth community and be able to be around Warren County and not have to travel super far. It has been really nice to be close to home and see all of my sister’s events at Monmouth-Roseville High School and as she goes to play club volleyball this winter.”
Blaesing also works as a barista at Dame Fine Coffee and as a waitress at Italian Village and plans to be a teacher after school. Her parents are Michael and Julie Blaesing.
Spence is currently in her 2nd year at Loras College and is a pitcher for the Softball team:
“I chose to attend Loras, which is in Dubuque, Iowa. I am currently in my second year and I also play softball. Our season kicks off on February 5th so, we are going to hit the ground running with a bunch of practices, but I chose to start studying Psychology and Criminal Justice. I am excited to see how my school counselor path goes in the future.”
Spence currently coaches at the Dusty Rogers Baseball and Softball Association and Loras College Softball broke into the National Rankings last year.
