Stephen “Steve” Parker, 59, of Maquon, Illinois, passed away on January 9, 2023.

He was born on February 21, 1963 to Donna (Pierce) Cecil and Dennis Parker. Steve is survived by his father Dennis and stepmother Alice of Maquon; sisters Stephanie (Walt) Knox of Maquon, Stacy Dikeman (John Wisniewski) of Hanover Park, and Jamie (Geoff) Monari of Elmwood; several nieces and nephews, and many good friends, including Jimmy and Tonya Donsbach. Steve was preceded in death by his mother Donna and stepfather Jim Cecil.

Steve enjoyed farming. Following graduation from Spoon River Valley High School, he spent most of his life working on farms in the Maquon area. This earned him his nickname, “Hogman/Hoggie.”

Cremation rites will be accorded. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the Maquon Cemetery, Maquon. A celebration of life will follow services at BR’s Place. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois have been entrusted with arrangements. Memorials may be donated to the Maquon Fire Department, where Steve volunteered in his younger years.  On-line condolences and/or expressions of sympathy may be sent through www.hurd-hendricksfuneralhome.com
