United Red Storm Girls Basketball Planning to Finish LTC Tournament Strong

Share

The United girls varsity basketball team has been out of action since last week when they began their play in the Lincoln Trail Conference Tournament at United High School. Last Wednesday the Red Storm held West Central’s all-state guard Shelby Bowman to just 14 points but could not come away with the win as they fell 47-31 to the Heat. In their second game of the LTC tourney on Thursday they took on the A-Town Tornadoes. The Red Storm defense once again played well in a loss holding star forward Brook Pieper to just 8 points in a 43-23 defeat. The back to back losses put United at 0-2 in tournament play and they are currently in the 9th place bracket.
Overall on the season the girls sit at 8-12. Despite the rocky start to the season for the young Red Storm squad, Head Coach Chris Olson says his team has shown effort and has been executing their gameplan, especially on defense.
