Bertha JoAnn Clark, 94, of Gilson passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2023, 6:20 PM at Courtyard Estates, Knoxville. 

JoAnn was born on August 28, 1928 in Galesburg. She was the daughter of Clyde and Maude (Oberholzter) Sherman. She married Dwight W. Clark on February 15, 1948 at the First United Methodist Church of Knoxville. Together, they celebrated a marriage of 71 years before he preceded her in death on December 14, 2019. Survivng JoAnn are her son, Gary (Betsy) Clark of Columbia, MO; an adopted daughter Linda Wexell; three grandchildren, Tyler, Brian and Lisa; five great grandchildren, Quinn, Kian, Vivian, Bovey and Rosalyn; and adopted grandson, Dustin Olson. Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bob Sherman.

JoAnn attended Foster Grade School and was a graduate of Maquon High School. JoAnn farmed alongside her husband for many years in the Gilson and Maquon areas. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Galesburg. 

Cremation rites will be accorded. Visitation will be from 2-4 PM on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory, Knoxville. A memorial service will be held 10 AM, Monday, February 20, 2023 at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory, Knoxville. A burial of cremated remains will follow services at the Gilson Cemetery. Rev. Jordan Knight will officiate. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory, Knoxville have been entrusted with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Galesburg Rescue Mission.
