Recruitment is underway for the CEO Program for Juniors and Seniors in high school in Knox County for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. The Galesburg Area Vocational Center is also enrolling students into their career and technical education and dual credit programs, says Knox County Area Partnership President Ken Springer:
“Across Knox and Warren Counties that feeds students into GAVC, where students can go to get dual credit classes in things like welding, our health sciences, or CNC programming, these different skilled trades. Enrollment is going on right now for the GAVC program. We had a really good increase in enrollment last year and we are hoping to carry that momentum into 2023. This is really important for us in economic development because these are the skills that are needed by our region’s employers. The way I like to think about it is that every student that goes into one of these programs at the Vocational Center is a future paycheck for this region; it is a future employee.”
The Galesburg Area Vocational programs serve students from Abingdon-Avon, ROWVA, Williamsfield, Monmouth-Roseville, Galesburg, United, Knoxville, and West Central.
