Four Scots Named Conference Performer of the Week

Addison Fletcher (Monmouth, Illinois)

Fresh off spring break action, four Monmouth College student athletes were named Performer of the Week by their respective conferences on Monday. In the Midwest Conference, baseball swept the awards with Addison Fletcher (Monmouth, Illinois) winning Pitcher of the Week and Raul Guillermo III (Miami, Florida) winning Position Player of the Week. Abby Leber (Tremont, Illinois) earned Pitcher of the Week for softball and the Midwest Lacrosse Conference named Kain Donohoo (St. Charles, Illinois) as the Offensive Player of the Week.

 Abby Leber (Tremont, Illinois)

Fletcher was 1-0 for the week of March 6-12, winning his start in Florida against Thiel College. He allowed one run over eight innings and struck out eight Tomcats. Monmouth won the game 3-1 and Fletcher is 2-0 on the season after the Florida trip.

Raul Guillermo III (Miami, Florida)

Guillermo hit .588 last week with 10 hits in 17 at-bats. He added a double and RBI while also scoring two runs. As a catcher, Guillermo also threw out two would-be base stealers. Guillermo leads the Scots with a .433 average as he collected 13 hits in the nine Florida games.

Kain Donohoo (St. Charles, Illinois)

Leber went 2-2 last week and posted a 1.32 ERA in four Florida starts. She struck out 20 batters in 27 1/3 innings and allowed just four earned runs. Leber tossed a complete game and went at least six innings in all four starts. She also surpassed the 200 career strikeout plateau and is now fourth in school history with 211 strikeouts.

Donohoo scored six goals in the first half of Monmouth’s loss at Edgewood on Saturday. He added an assist for a seven-point game and also finished with nine shots on goal and two ground balls. Donohoo leads the MLC in goals scored this season (19) and ranks second in points (25), Donohoo has the most career assists (36) in Monmouth history and is second in both goals (87) and points (123) to Jeff Knapp (’22).
