Illinois Lawmakers Discussing Bill Requiring Child Pay On Social Media

Illinois lawmakers are discussing a bill that would require parents who make money posting videos of their children on social media to share that revenue with their kids.  The Illinois Senate Labor Committee approved a bill that would guarantee children a right to a percentage of that revenue for certain videos.  Traditional child actors are covered under child labor laws, however, those protections don’t include young social media users who have gained a significant following on social media.
