Monmouth Police Chief Switzer Advises Keeping All Items Locked Up

Share

Following a rash of stolen vehicles in the City of Monmouth, Police Chief Joe Switzer reminds residents to lock your doors and belongings:

“Part of that I think was due to the Kia and Hyundai security issues with the software in the vehicle. I think that has been identified and being taken advantage of via TikTok videos, but there are safety updates that you can get if you own a Kia or Hyundai. If you haven’t done so, look for the nearest Kia dealership. There are security updates for the software in the vehicle that will make them not as easy to start without a key. Obviously, lock your car doors, lock your garage doors, and don’t leave your keys in your car because that makes it easy for those people to do this.”
