United Red Storm Baseball Pick Up Win in First Outing

The United Red Storm baseball team finally got on the field for their first game action on Tuesday. The Red Storm got off to a great start, beating West Prairie 9-1 on the strength of a combined no-hitter from AJ Jenks and Tanner Rogers. This will be a new-look Red Storm team on the field this season. United graduated a plethora of senior starters from last year’s regional championship ballclub. Head coach Ryan Molek talked about their opening night win and his excitement of the challenge of putting together a new starting lineup on the WRAM Morning Show.

The Red Storm baseball squad have a schedule next week that will give them a good look at what they are going to need to do to be competitive in the Lincoln Trail Conference’s West Division. They start the week with an LTC divisional cross-over game at home against a solid ROWVA/Williamsfield ballclub on Monday, followed by a trip to Peoria Christian on Tuesday and a home game against Camp Point Central on Thursday.
