On Saturday, March 25th, the Western Illinois Animal Rescue will hold their main fundraising event of the year at the Monmouth American Legion. Treasurer Jan Helms highlights the schedule of event for the upcoming Furry Friends Fundraiser:

“We are changing it up a bit this year. We have a comedian coming in and he is also going to be the emcee for the evening. We of course have 50/50 raffles, everybody likes those, silent auction, and a live auction. We have several things that we are going to live auction off. The Madrigal singers will be out there first of all at 5:30 pm. Then we are going to have some dog skills. Kenneth Helms and his dog Quaid will be out there to show what can be done with diligent training with a very young dog and how impressive he is at paying attention to his directions. Then I believe we also will have some Newfoundland dogs showing us their skills. This will all be sprinkled through the evening.”

The event will begin at 4pm on March 25th. Admission is $5.
