Karen E. Talley, 81, of Monmouth, IL., passed away at 11:35 p.m., Monday, April 24, 2023, at Monmouth Nursing Home, Monmouth, IL. 

Karen was born on February 27, 1942, in Monmouth, Il the daughter of James Alfred and Edna Louise (Walker) Parrish.  She was raised and educated in Lafayette, Il, near Kewanee, graduating from Lafayette High School in 1960. 

Karen married John W. Talley Sr. in Monmouth on July 18, 1964.

She worked as a seamstress at Carhartt in Galesburg for several years before retiring in 2007.

Karen was of Christian Faith.  She was an avid sports fan, especially watching the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs and recently the Kansas City Chiefs. She enjoyed horseracing, reading, doing crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy. She loved and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, John Wayne (Alisa) Talley, Jr. of Ft. Madison, IA, Julie (Lornie) Lant of Kirkwood, IL and Jodi (Earl) Forrester of Monmouth; 10 grandchildren, Shauna Lee Talley, John W. Talley, III, Timothy J. Talley, Tulsa Lane Talley, Austin Allen, Alexis Allen, Christy Flynn, Ronnie Holeman, III, Dacia Albert, Brandon Forrester; numerous great grandchildren and her sister in crime, Marlene Shamblin

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation has been accorded.  No services are planned at this time.  Memorials may be given to the Karen Talley Memorial Fund to assist with expenses and sent to the funeral home.
