Men’s Golf Finishes in Eighth Place at SLIAC Championships

The Monmouth College men’s golf team finished in eighth place as a team in the three-day SLIAC Championships. The season-ending event concluded Tuesday, at the par-72 Fair Oaks Golf Club in Caseyville, Illinois,

Briggs Bossert (Evanston, Illinois) finished in 25th place, the best finish for a Monmouth golfer. He shot a 79 on Tuesday to go with previous rounds of 77 and 81 for an overall score of 237, 21 shots over par.

Ryan Prusak (Oswego, Illinois) finished in 30th place with a score of 239. He shot a 79 on Tuesday after earlier rounds of 78 and 82.

Ganon Greenman (Alpha, Illinois) led the Scots for the first two days before carding an 86 on Tuesday. He finished in a tie for 36th place with a 241.

Noah Shields (Rantoul, Illinois) shot a +8 80 on Tuesday and overall finished in a tie for 38th place at 245. Grant Foster (Galesburg, Illinois) remained in 48th place with a final round 89 and a total score of 272..

Monmouth finished in eighth place out of 11 teams for the third year in a row. With a team score of 962 they were 24 shots behind Fontbonne and 54 shots ahead of Blackburn. Webster won the team event with a score of 875 and they also won the individual title with a golfer at -4, 212.
