Monmouth Mayor Rod Davies Recognizes April as National Sexual Assault Awareness and Child Abuse Prevention Month

April is recognized in the United States as National Sexual Assault Awareness Month and also National Child Abuse Prevention Month and City of Monmouth Mayor Rod Davies issued two proclamations at the latest City Council meeting acknowledging both:

“We asked all citizens to stand against child abuse and sexual assault and offer support and understanding to survivors and also to participate in awareness activities.”

Local services are available though the Western Illinois Regional Council for individuals who have experienced or witnessed some form of sexual violence or abuse. The 24/7 free and confidential crisis hotline is 309-837-5555.
